Fergus Fairbairn made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Duardo Cameno sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute, Duardo Cameno fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Fergus Fairbairn, passed just outside the right post. The supporters of JubiladosPlayasdeMalagaFS booed when Rangers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ron McLeish didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mónico Ponce de León stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
