Armindo Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Rudberg in the 28th minute of the match. Viktor Pettersson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Caeiro in the 32nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Caeiro in the 34th minute of play forced Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Viktor Pettersson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Shao Kun Yuan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Viktor Pettersson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Chen Ao Fan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of VB-Team booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hans Petersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viktor Pettersson having to interfere. VB-Team's Qiu Sheng Bang was substituted for Sandro Leitão. Skövde AIK made a substitution. Jerry Williams replaced Kurt Hamrin. VB-Team made a substitution. Traian Hăvârneanu replaced Joaquim de Barros. Skövde AIK's Viktor Pettersson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervásio Severiano in the 68th minute of play. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The VB-Team fans cheered their team off the field, for while Skövde AIK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
