The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Taam 董卓 during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Paso FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Taam 董卓 hit a great ball. With his leg Mira Pene managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Skövde AIK's Chen Ao Fan fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ronnie Hellström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oktay Eğriöz, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Paso FC's Tomas Lucero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronnie Hellström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Kevin Keegan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skövde AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Silvestre Ellande was slow to take the kick. During this time Paso FC's players had a chance to rest. Oktay Eğriöz was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 26th minute, Chen Ao Fan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Lucero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ronnie Hellström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oktay Eğriöz's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Oktay Eğriöz struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Ronnie Hellström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paso FC. Paso FC's Mira Pene played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 41st minute of play. When Krister Uggstedt fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skövde AIK's protests and gave Krister Uggstedt a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Krister Uggstedt. Kevin Keegan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mira Pene having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oktay Eğriöz made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Oktay Eğriöz took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Ronnie Hellström to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Paso FC booed when Skövde AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Hamrin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ronnie Hellström made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Oktay Eğriöz sent off a good shot on target. 55 minutes into the game, Oktay Eğriöz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronnie Hellström. Oktay Eğriöz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Paso FC made a substitution. Denis Rivas replaced Oktay Eğriöz. Mira Pene showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 62 played minutes Paso FC got a freekick which was hit by Damien Law. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by Skövde AIK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Silvestre Ellande was slow to take the kick. During this time Paso FC's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Ramon Burni heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After having played for 70 minutes, Kevin Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skövde AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevin Keegan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 74 minutes into the match, Denis Rivas notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström. Ronnie Hellström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 82 minutes into the match, Paso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Chen Ao Fan came free, but Mira Pene reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronnie Hellström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Denis Rivas's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 85thth minute of the game Denis Rivas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Skövde AIK booed when Paso FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Lucero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th minute of the game Taam 董卓 made a throw-in which Denis Rivas played forward. Paso FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
