The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Oktay Eğriöz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oktay Eğriöz in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Oktay Eğriöz came free, but Ronnie Hellström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Kevin Keegan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute Oktay Eğriöz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Hellström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Oktay Eğriöz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ronnie Hellström was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Oktay Eğriöz put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ronnie Hellström. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Paso FC's goalie and right to Knut Rudberg. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Paso FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Filip Brolin kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Lucero in the 39th minute of play. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Filip Brolin hit a great ball. After 45 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Filip Brolin. Oktay Eğriöz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oktay Eğriöz to make the kick off. Hans Petersson hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Ronnie Hellström was out of position in the 52 minute of play, and Tomas Lucero capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Lucero really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. After a rather tough play, Skövde AIK's Filip Brolin got a free kick in the 60th minute. Skövde AIK made a substitution. Jerry Williams replaced Kurt Hamrin. After 61 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Filip Brolin. Ronnie Hellström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Rivas, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Damien Law hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Ronnie Hellström didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Denis Rivas went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström got control of the ball when Denis Rivas tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Lucero got free with Ronnie Hellström in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Melker Hjortsberg fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Skövde AIK's protests and gave Melker Hjortsberg a yellow card for diving instead. Melker Hjortsberg hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Tomas Lucero hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the match, Paso FC's Tomas Lucero sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronnie Hellström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Denis Rivas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ronnie Hellström. The goal made the score 0-6. The Paso FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Paso FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
