Skövde AIK's Ronnie Hellström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Constantino Anaya in the 9th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Kevin Keegan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skövde AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Kevin Keegan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruperto Rainerio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 21 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goalkeeper Ronnie Hellström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hernán Leandro. Leon Platense's Hernán Leandro managed to work through Skövde AIK's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Hernán Leandro dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Chen Ao Fan hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Ruperto Rainerio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 35th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kevin Keegan in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ruperto Rainerio saved Leon Platense from getting behind. Skövde AIK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chen Ao Fan in the 38th minute. The corner led Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan to fire away a dangerous shot which Ruperto Rainerio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chen Ao Fan in the 41st minute of play forced Leon Platense's goalkeeper Ruperto Rainerio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Adrio hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Kevin Keegan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Leon Platense fans cheered their team off the field, for while Skövde AIK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
