Nelsinho Cunha scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Claudinho Medeiros, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. São José City - FSCMZ's Hélder Severo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Valle in the 19th minute of play. Nelsinho Cunha received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Claudinho Medeiros came out and tried to block the shot, but Nelsinho Cunha slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 20th minute. After a rather tough play, Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's Paulinho Pinho got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Claudinho Medeiros acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 24th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Luiz Paulo Leão. Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's Claudinho Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Jacuitiba - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, São José City - FSCMZ's Moisés Montenegro got a free kick in the 27th minute. Ciro Toledo's late challenge caught a Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ciro Toledo helped the player get up and apologised. If Luís Guilherme Custódio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Paulo Valle was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Dito Xavier came free, but Claudinho Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 64 minutes into the game, when Paulinho Pinho put in a rough tackle. Claudinho Medeiros had in the 66thth minute some difficulties stopping Luiz Paulo Leão's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. After some careless play in the Jacuitiba - FSCMZ defense, Luiz Paulo Leão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudinho Medeiros. The Jacuitiba - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudinho Medeiros should have stopped the shot. After 71 minutes, Ciro Toledo made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Jacuitiba - FSCMZ's Claudinho Medeiros tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Benjamin Travassos hit a great ball. São José City - FSCMZ walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
