New Joinville - FSCMZ's Sidney de Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Válbson Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Joinville - FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Válbson Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cafu Linares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute, Lamine Xande made a precise shot to the right of Cafu Linares. OTTO FC - FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 18 minutes into the game, New Joinville - FSCMZ's Lamine Xande nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emerson Chaves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cássio Peixoto, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Válbson Schmidt had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cafu Linares. OTTO FC - FSCMZ's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Válbson Schmidt was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. When Manuel Pinho fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OTTO FC - FSCMZ's protests and gave Manuel Pinho a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of New Joinville - FSCMZ booed when OTTO FC - FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. New Joinville - FSCMZ's Emerson Chaves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdir Magalhães in the 34th minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Lamine Xande who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Cafu Linares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in OTTO FC - FSCMZ's zone, Sidney de Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cafu Linares came out of the goal and Sidney de Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the OTTO FC - FSCMZ defense, Sidney de Queirós kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cafu Linares. The OTTO FC - FSCMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cafu Linares should have stopped the shot. In the 46th minute Válbson Schmidt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lamine Xande stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cafu Linares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Válbson Schmidt in the 54th minute. When Sidney de Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the New Joinville - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sidney de Queirós couldn't finish the play. Emerson Chaves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdir Magalhães in the 58th minute of play. New Joinville - FSCMZ made a substitution. Robinho de Souza replaced Sidney de Queirós. Lamine Xande who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Cafu Linares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Germano Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Robinho de Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 73 minutes of play, New Joinville - FSCMZ's Lamine Xande made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cafu Linares was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Robinho de Souza came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the New Joinville - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robinho de Souza couldn't finish the play. If Ronaldo Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Cafu Linares got control of the ball when Lamine Xande tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cauã Koehler's late challenge caught a New Joinville - FSCMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cauã Koehler helped the player get up and apologised. Cauã Koehler hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 84th match minute, OTTO FC - FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in OTTO FC - FSCMZ's zone, Glauco Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cafu Linares came out of the goal and Glauco Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute, Válbson Schmidt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cafu Linares. The goal made the score 0-9. After 92 played minutes New Joinville - FSCMZ got a freekick which was hit by Xandinho Thuram. The OTTO FC - FSCMZ fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. New Joinville - FSCMZ were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
