An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Peruxu in the 20th minute of play forced Martin Palermo F.C.'s goalkeeper Martín Izquierdo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Remigio Tabby recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Martín Izquierdo. Remigio Tabby showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. In the 28th minute Nestor Lertxun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justino Igon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastián Izquierdo in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Justino Igon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Defensores de Fasano's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Celso Felipillo was slow to take the kick. During this time Martin Palermo F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Celso Felipillo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Justino Igon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Remigio Tabby hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. When Remigio Tabby fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Defensores de Fasano's protests and gave Remigio Tabby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 40th minute, Remigio Tabby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiburcio Peruxu was the one to do the kick off. Defensores de Fasano's Justino Igon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastián Izquierdo in the 51st minute of play. Martín Izquierdo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Bernat, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastián Izquierdo during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Martin Palermo F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastián Izquierdo to maneuver through the defense. Defensores de Fasano's Justino Igon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Defensores de Fasano from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Defensores de Fasano's Tiburcio Peruxu got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 68 minutes, Tiburcio Peruxu made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Martin Palermo F.C.'s Martín Izquierdo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Benicio Izquierdo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Martín Izquierdo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Bernat in the 74th minute of play. Martín Izquierdo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiburcio Peruxu in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Defensores de Fasano's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Benicio Izquierdo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 83rd minute, Leon Bernat ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Martín Izquierdo was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1.
