Abelardo Corderun was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 32 minutes into the match. Abelardo Corderun hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, Alejo Louis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amador Jakue made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudio Eudoxio in the 37th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Amador Jakue successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Luisito Tono struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Amador Jakue didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ATLETICO MENDOZA. In the 43rd match minute, Leones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaspar Sabin to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as ATLETICO MENDOZA's Fausto Benino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Amador Jakue. That made the score 1-0 after 44 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaspar Sabin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Leones FC's Godfredo Ascencio got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Fausto Benino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Leonardo Poz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Natalio Gerazan. That made the score 1-1 in the 64 minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, Leones FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luisito Tono came free, but Amador Jakue reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaspar Sabin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Natalio Gerazan having to make a save. After 80 played minutes Leones FC got a freekick which was hit by Dante Mannie. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisito Tono in the 82nd minute of play forced Leones FC's goalkeeper Amador Jakue to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amador Jakue took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Eudoxio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leonardo Poz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 94 minutes into the match, Luisito Tono notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Leones FC's Amador Jakue. Amador Jakue was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
