National Team Cape-Verde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fredric Melander in the 3rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Bennvar Post got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Karl-Erik Norström quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 3 minutes, Bennvar Post made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström got control of the ball when Bennvar Post tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariusz Snow got free with Karl-Erik Norström in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 10th minute, Chen Ao Fan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 11th minute, National Team Cape-Verde's Bennvar Post ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Karl-Erik Norström. Karl-Erik Norström yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. 13 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Bennvar Post came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 13th minute of the match, Bennvar Post tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Karl-Erik Norström saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Skövde AIK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Roland Björklund scored to the left of an out of position Karl-Erik Norström, making the score, 3-0. Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Skövde AIK from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute, National Team Cape-Verde's Bennvar Post dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Mariusz Snow took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Karl-Erik Norström to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Hamrin in the 31st minute of play forced National Team Cape-Verde's goalkeeper Pål Sefastsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Björklund in the 32nd minute of play. With a little luck, Skövde AIK's Karl-Erik Norström got control of the ball when Bennvar Post tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 36th minute, Mariusz Snow hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. National Team Cape-Verde's Pål Sefastsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Keegan in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Mariusz Snow came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Alberto Tevez made a kick off. In the 54th minute Georg Norström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Sefastsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kurt Hamrin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute Anton Vibjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute Karl-Ove Sörman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Skövde AIK's goal looked a bit too open when Karl-Ove Sörman came free, but Karl-Erik Norström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerry Williams recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Skövde AIK's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
