With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jon Hagström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jon Hagström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Juan Laffitte's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. The tension between the los nadies and the De Boedo Vengo players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Teobaldo Fertus came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the De Boedo Vengo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teobaldo Fertus couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simone Ritieni in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jon Hagström saved De Boedo Vengo from getting behind. In the 44th minute of the match los nadies got a corner. De Boedo Vengo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Juan Laffitte ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Juan Laffitte almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but De Boedo Vengo's Jon Hagström did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Laffitte in the 46th minute of play forced De Boedo Vengo's goalkeeper Jon Hagström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Teobaldo Fertus was the one to do the kick off. In the 71st minute of the match Juan Laffitte sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jon Hagström skillfully saved the ball.
