The coaching staff of Palermo protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Oscar Eguen had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 30th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Eguen to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Palermo's zone, Pastor Pio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Lekubegi came out of the goal and Pastor Pio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hubert Verheijden in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Enrique Lekubegi, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Enrique Lekubegi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hubert Verheijden, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 37th minute, ★ Idεɭcαp FC ツ★ u21's Hubert Verheijden ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Enrique Lekubegi. Enrique Lekubegi yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hubert Verheijden in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Enrique Lekubegi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 47 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Valentin Enekoitz. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pavel Turoň to make the kick off. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
