The audience thought a goal was coming when Gualterio Mikolas got free with Roberto Nunes in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 21 played minutes Forever Tango got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Escobar. Albino Senin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Henry in the 23rd minute of play. The Forever Tango fans' excitement grew in the 25th match minute when Forever Tango's Luisito Senio looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Bernardo Veronica hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th match minute, Forever Tango was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualterio Mikolas to maneuver through the defense. GuateFortín's Roberto Nunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save GuateFortín from getting a goal against them. Ivan Lozano kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Roberto Nunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisito Senio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Forever Tango's Albino Senin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Henry in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Gualterio Mikolas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Orlando Coria. 44 minutes into the match, Forever Tango's Clemente Medina broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thierry Henry in the 45th minute of play forced Forever Tango's goalkeeper Albino Senin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thierry Henry was the one to do the kick off.
