Jimmy Olsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zhao Sen Yang blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jimmy Olsson having to make a save. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 12th minute of play. İlhami Akyazıcı recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ivan Chiuzbaian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tavo Tomat in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Arvid Carlsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zhao Sen Yang in the 27th minute of play forced Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Jimmy Olsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Zhao Sen Yang came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zhao Sen Yang couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Linköpings AIK getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Julien Staffelbach hit a great ball. Zhao Sen Yang recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang in the 37th minute of play. If Zhao Sen Yang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jimmy Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zhao Sen Yang, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Zhao Sen Yang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jimmy Olsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd minute Zhao Sen Yang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Linköpings AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Folke Abrahamsson to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
The wind increased when Julien Staffelbach made the kick off in the second half. Linköpings AIK's Julien Staffelbach got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zhao Sen Yang got free with Jimmy Olsson in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arvid Carlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 61 minutes, İlhami Akyazıcı managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s supporters crossed their fingers, but İlhami Akyazıcı was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arvid Carlsson's late challenge caught a Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arvid Carlsson helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- booed when Linköpings AIK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arvid Carlsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th match minute, Linköpings AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan-Erik Lundqvist to maneuver through the defense. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski was substituted for Grigore Maghiran. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zhao Sen Yang couldn't finish the play. Zhao Sen Yang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jimmy Olsson having to interfere. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julien Staffelbach in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
