After 31 minutes of play, KFC Uerdingen 05's Alois Fontagnier made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roman Montez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joseph Hussen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Villa Mitre players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. KFC Uerdingen 05 were winning 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karsten Illgner made a kick off. KFC Uerdingen 05's Joseph Hussen got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of KFC Uerdingen 05 booed when Villa Mitre was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Corderro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 60 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Manfred Andrau. Villa Mitre's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Manfred Andrau 62 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. With an all-out effort, KFC Uerdingen 05's Roman Montez threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manfred Andrau, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ambrosius Hoffmann in the 72nd minute of play forced Villa Mitre's goalkeeper Roman Montez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roman Montez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Andrau, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 81 minutes into the match, KFC Uerdingen 05's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Shepherd came free, but Radenko Mayer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd play minute Joseph Hussen came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Roman Montez. 0-8. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Manfred Andrau managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Uerdingen 05's supporters rose to their feet, but Manfred Andrau was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roman Montez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 91st minute, Villa Mitre's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Joseph Hussen fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The KFC Uerdingen 05 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KFC Uerdingen 05 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
