Mariano Rio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 6 minutes into the match, ToCoTaN FC's goalkeeper Mariano Rio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joseph Hussen. After 9 played minutes ToCoTaN FC got a freekick which was hit by Guido Confesor. Ratko Leibold sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. ToCoTaN FC's Mariano Rio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save ToCoTaN FC from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Alois Fontagnier took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Mariano Rio to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, ToCoTaN FC's Mariano Rio got control of the ball when Karsten Illgner tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mariano Rio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ratko Leibold in the 27th minute of the match. KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimo Ihazintu in the 29th minute of play. Nicolas Anelka was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute of the match Guido Confesor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Radenko Mayer skillfully saved the ball. Alois Fontagnier kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eustacio Nevada in the 34th minute of play forced KFC Uerdingen 05's goalkeeper Radenko Mayer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mariano Rio made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Joseph Hussen sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as KFC Uerdingen 05's Manfred Andrau slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mariano Rio. That made the score 4-0 after 37 minutes of play. Radenko Mayer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guido Confesor in the 40th minute of the match. Radenko Mayer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eustacio Nevada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Mariano Rio came out of the goal in the 51st minute to try and stop a shot by KFC Uerdingen 05's Karsten Illgner. But to his dismay, Karsten Illgner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. KFC Uerdingen 05's Radenko Mayer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save KFC Uerdingen 05 from getting a goal against them. Eustacio Nevada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Radenko Mayer made a huge save. After 72 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Alois Fontagnier. 75 minutes into the match, ToCoTaN FC's goal looked a bit too open when Karsten Illgner came free, but Mariano Rio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute, Gerlach Rogatty hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Guido Confesor managed to get in a good position for a shot. ToCoTaN FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guido Confesor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Radenko Mayer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 80 played minutes KFC Uerdingen 05 got a freekick which was hit by Ratko Leibold. Mariano Rio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karsten Illgner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Many of ToCoTaN FC's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. ToCoTaN FC may have spent more time on the ball, but KFC Uerdingen 05 were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
