Pavel Serada kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Per-Olof Kihlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paolo Caradaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The audience was convinced that Eustaquio Jaizki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per-Olof Kihlberg was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the game, Vasily Stahanovich recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Germano. Vasily Stahanovich showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Dmitry Yakubovsky fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Germano having to interfere. Dmitry Yakubovsky's late challenge caught a Club Atlético Atlanta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dmitry Yakubovsky helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, FORTALEZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dmitry Yakubovsky to maneuver through the defense. Paolo Caradaro scored 1-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Per-Olof Kihlberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Vasily Stahanovich came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the FORTALEZA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasily Stahanovich couldn't finish the play. Fedor Tabalevich could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Carlos Germano made a huge save. Vasily Stahanovich's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Carlos Germano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Anselmo Nevada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 26thth minute of the game Marcos Berdoi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 26 minutes, Marcos Berdoi made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Club Atlético Atlanta getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Donato Nalo hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Paolo Caradaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per-Olof Kihlberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 39th minute, Lázaro Cuartio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Per-Olof Kihlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remigio Erramu in the 40th minute of the match. Per-Olof Kihlberg didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Club Atlético Atlanta's Paolo Caradaro shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-5 in the ordered_time% minute. Eustaquio Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eustaquio Jaizki was the one to do the kick off. With an all-out effort, Club Atlético Atlanta's Per-Olof Kihlberg threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Marcos Berdoi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 53rd minute Club Atlético Atlanta were awarded a corner. Marcos Berdoi went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 56th minute, Dmitry Yakubovsky hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Berdoi in the 57th minute of play forced FORTALEZA's goalkeeper Per-Olof Kihlberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Per-Olof Kihlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paolo Caradaro in the 60th minute of the match. If Lázaro Cuartio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paolo Caradaro in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th match minute, FORTALEZA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pavel Yarmalovich to maneuver through the defense. Per-Olof Kihlberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Berdoi in the 68th minute of play. Per-Olof Kihlberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Berdoi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eustaquio Jaizki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 74 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Dmitry Yakubovsky came free, but Carlos Germano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético Atlanta's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Pavel Yarmalovich was slow to take the kick. During this time FORTALEZA's players had a chance to rest. FORTALEZA's Pavel Yarmalovich was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Carlos Germano in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vasily Stahanovich in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Germano saved Club Atlético Atlanta from getting behind. FORTALEZA's Dmitry Yakubovsky got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Paolo Caradaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Per-Olof Kihlberg having to interfere. Marcos Berdoi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Per-Olof Kihlberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg got control of the ball when Paolo Caradaro tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 88th minute, Paolo Caradaro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Per-Olof Kihlberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. With a little luck, FORTALEZA's Per-Olof Kihlberg got control of the ball when Eustaquio Jaizki tried to sneak it across the goal line. Per-Olof Kihlberg went to the wrong direction when Marcos Berdoi was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. 95 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Atlanta's Lázaro Cuartio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Per-Olof Kihlberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 99th minute, Marcos Berdoi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Per-Olof Kihlberg came out of the goal in the 100th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atlético Atlanta's Eustaquio Jaizki. But to his dismay, Eustaquio Jaizki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-8. When the match was over Club Atlético Atlanta could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FORTALEZA throughout the match.
