In the 9th minute of the match, Bengt-Rune Fastesson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luisito Quinten saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Enzo Miccio kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 19th minute Ariel Jesus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisito Quinten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Jesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Boleslaw Zielinski left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lyons fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Luisito Quinten made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enzo Miccio in the 34th minute. Luisito Quinten took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Jesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute of the match ACF Fiorentina got a corner. Lyons's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gabriel Gaufred ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Gustavo Gomez to score against Luisito Quinten in Lyons's goal. 1-1 after 39 minutes. In the 41st minute, Enzo Miccio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hu Xi hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Marcos Berasko charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcos Berasko the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th minute, Marcos Berasko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Luisito Quinten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ariel Jesus in the 60th minute of the match. Boleslaw Zielinskis short, quick shot in the 70thth minute got Federico Kalinowski to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Gabriel Gaufred managed to get in a good position for a shot. ACF Fiorentina's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Gaufred was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisito Quinten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lyons made a substitution. Stig Åkerberg replaced Aurelio Vasco. Lyons's Dariusz Roano was substituted for Boleslaw Zielinski. ACF Fiorentina's Hildeberto Carvalho was substituted for Bengt-Rune Fastesson. After 92 minutes of play, ACF Fiorentina's Maximino Cabezon made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luisito Quinten was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luisito Quinten stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maximino Cabezon's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
