Sonny Bergdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Ødegaard in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to Oldham Athletic getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Karl-Erik Fransson hit a great ball. When Artetas artilleri's Martin Ødegaard in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Karl-Erik Fransson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 24 minutes had been played. Agne Stor took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson. Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some careless play in the Artetas artilleri defense, Sören Petersson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson. The Artetas artilleri fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson should have stopped the shot. Martin Ødegaard in the 38thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sonny Bergdal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Oscar Bäcklin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Bäcklin in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute Agne Stor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 43 minutes of play, Oldham Athletic's Sören Petersson made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sonny Bergdal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Ødegaard's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Oldham Athletic's Per-Erik Rydberg was substituted for Agne Stor. Sören Petersson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sören Petersson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson made a huge save. After 71 minutes, Sören Petersson made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Artetas artilleri's Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Martin Ødegaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sonny Bergdal was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. In the 76th minute, Karl-Johan Bergendahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 minutes of play, Oldham Athletic's Sören Petersson made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 81st minute of the match, Sören Petersson got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Artetas artilleri's Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Erik Rydberg in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Oscar Bäcklin notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Artetas artilleri's Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson. Nils-Erik Ambjörnsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Oldham Athletic's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
