When Academica Pulheim's Kurt Ahrem in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The SSV Ulm 1846 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Academica Pulheim were winning 0-3.

The wind increased when Alex Mansilha made the kick off in the second half. When Alex Mansilha came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Academica Pulheim fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Mansilha couldn't finish the play. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Maxime Vrints replaced Lutz Golke. After 88 minutes SSV Ulm 1846's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Alex Mansilha who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Academica Pulheim's Alex Mansilha to fire away a dangerous shot which Kryspin Cupial despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goal looked a bit too open when Joachim Kretschmer came free, but Kryspin Cupial reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Academica Pulheim had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
