Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Hannover Reds from getting a goal against them. Andaç Adahan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Argina, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. Hannover Reds were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Hertha 1969's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lei Xiang Rong took the corner. After taking down the ball on Hannover Reds's corner Lei Xiang Rong fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rune Jarstein quite easily take care of the ball. In the 9th minute Willi Tilmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rune Jarstein came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Hannover Reds's Willi Tilmann. But to his dismay, Willi Tilmann quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Bernd Yuschni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Hertha 1969's goal looked a bit too open when Willi Tilmann came free, but Rune Jarstein reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Argina, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willi Tilmann in the 23rd minute of play. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willi Tilmann in the 26th minute of play. When Hannover Reds's Willi Tilmann in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Hertha 1969's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gigel Elenescu got free with Bernd Yuschni in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willi Tilmann in the 37th minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 42nd minute of play. Nils Hovermann came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bernd Yuschni could save by the left post. A collision led to Hannover Reds getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Qiao Xing Qi hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Emilio Argina made the kick off in the second half. Rune Jarstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willi Tilmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Rupert Heidingsfelder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hertha 1969's supporters rose to their feet, but Rupert Heidingsfelder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernd Yuschni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Rupert Heidingsfelder came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Hertha 1969 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Heidingsfelder couldn't finish the play. 65 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Heidingsfelder came free, but Bernd Yuschni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute Emilio Argina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 78 minutes of play, Hertha 1969's Rupert Heidingsfelder made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernd Yuschni was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Hannover Reds's zone, Rupert Heidingsfelder stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernd Yuschni came out of the goal and Rupert Heidingsfelder tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rune Jarstein made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willi Tilmann in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Hannover Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Rupert Heidingsfelder came free, but Bernd Yuschni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willi Tilmann in the 87th minute of play. Lüder Roppel hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Willi Tilmann got free with Rune Jarstein in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 92nd minute of play forced Hannover Reds's goalkeeper Bernd Yuschni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Hannover Reds players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
