They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodrigo Domingues made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Roberto Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Breguete FC's zone, Pedro Rojelio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jefferson Souza came out of the goal and Pedro Rojelio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jefferson Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobaldo Milian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aquiles Oihenarte stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rodrigo Domingues's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. With an all-out effort, Breguete FC's Aquiles Oihenarte threw himself towards the right post 67 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rodrigo Domingues, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Pedro Rojelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jefferson Souza having to interfere. Aquiles Oihenarte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamim Rezende, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Breguete FC's Rodrigo Domingues ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aquiles Oihenarte. Aquiles Oihenarte yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. When Anacleto Admon fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atlético Atlanta's protests and gave Anacleto Admon a yellow card for diving instead. Anacleto Admon hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute of the match, Rodrigo Domingues got a very nice opportunity to score, but Aquiles Oihenarte was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Pedro Rojelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jefferson Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Luzea, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
