Lukas Matsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Michael Haglund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristiaan Van de Velde was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. FC NORDLAND's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Svenne Svensk in the 13th minute. After taking down the ball on FC NORDLAND's corner Michael Haglund fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kristiaan Van de Velde quite easily take care of the ball. Kristiaan Van de Velde made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Mikael Kjellqvist sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, FC NORDLAND's Barry Baresi got a free kick in the 19th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Svenne Svensk got free with Kristiaan Van de Velde in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Svenne Svensk in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kristiaan Van de Velde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Svenne Svensk sped through de belletrekkers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kristiaan Van de Velde. Svenne Svensks short, quick shot in the 31stth minute got Kristiaan Van de Velde to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 33rd minute of the match Karel-Jan De Coninck sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lukas Matsson skillfully saved the ball. Lukas Matsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Charlie Godts in the 36th minute of play. After some careless play in the FC NORDLAND defense, George Van Impe kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lukas Matsson. The FC NORDLAND fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lukas Matsson should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute of the match, Michael Haglund tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kristiaan Van de Velde saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Mikael Kjellqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rein Goethals in the 47th minute of play forced FC NORDLAND's goalkeeper Lukas Matsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half de belletrekkers were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Svenne Svensk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Svenne Svensk put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Kristiaan Van de Velde. Kristiaan Van de Velde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svenne Svensk in the 55th minute of the match. In the 57thth minute of the game Svenne Svensk who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but de belletrekkers's Kristiaan Van de Velde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. FC NORDLAND's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
