But to his dismay, Dinu Bocu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Pavlos Konstantakakis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willi Tilmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 24 minutes into the match, Hamburg Fighters's goal looked a bit too open when Qiao Xing Qi came free, but Pavlos Konstantakakis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernd Yuschni made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gianluca Balla in the 25th minute. Gianni Balla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 35th minute of the match Hannover Reds got a corner. Hamburg Fighters's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Lars Voss ran over to the corner to take the kick. Brandon Rick struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Bernd Yuschni didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hamburg Fighters. Pavlos Konstantakakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willi Tilmann in the 44th minute of the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emilio Argina was the one to do the kick off.
