Niclas Monschke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Lucrețiu Brătescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kryspin Cupial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Themis Papadimoulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Jonatan Lekberg in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by SSV Ulm 1846's Jose Ramon Talcao. Kryspin Cupial came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by VfL Bad Nenndorf's Themis Papadimoulis. But to his dismay, Themis Papadimoulis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 25th minute Róbert Štriker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kryspin Cupial saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Róbert Štriker took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kryspin Cupial. Kryspin Cupial dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind VfL Bad Nenndorf's goalkeeper Lucrețiu Brătescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Themis Papadimoulis in the 44th minute of play forced SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Kryspin Cupial to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Don Merlot stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Jonatan Lekberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. VfL Bad Nenndorf's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
