In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Georges Gladu fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Wil 1900's protests and gave Georges Gladu a yellow card for diving instead. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Elodio in the 12th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Tory Pryor came free, but Andriy Lunin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the game, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After 21 minutes FC Wil 1900's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Toralf Hell who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s corner Toralf Hell fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Lionel Paly quite easily take care of the ball. David Elodio scored 0-3 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lionel Paly, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when David Elodio came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Georges Gladu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Andriy Lunin made a huge save. After 30 minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Téo Rosa who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 31 minutes, Bernardinho Alagoano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernardinho Alagoano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Wil 1900's Téo Rosa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andriy Lunin. That made the score 1-3 after 39 minutes of play. 42 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Téo Rosa. Andriy Lunin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tory Pryor went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when David Elodio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pirmin Jäggi, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Lionel Paly didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from David Elodio went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Andriy Lunin came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Wil 1900's Emery Heller. But to his dismay, Emery Heller quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-4. David Elodio struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Lionel Paly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.. The crowd rose to their feet as David Elodio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lionel Paly. That made the score 3-5 in the 71 minute of play. A hard shot 75 in the game by David Elodio from a close distance when the talented Lionel Paly managed to make a qualified save. FC Wil 1900's players were relieved. Andriy Lunin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Rosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Wil 1900 from getting a goal against them. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Elodio in the 94th minute of play. The FC Wil 1900 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s performance. The match ended with a win for SC Freiburg 1904 e.V..
