With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lionel Paly saved FC Wil 1900 from getting behind. Lionel Paly came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Hertha 1969's Rupert Heidingsfelder. But to his dismay, Rupert Heidingsfelder quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Tory Pryor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Rune Jarstein made a huge save. Lionel Paly took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Nienhaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 16 minutes FC Wil 1900's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Moritz Hasenjäger who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Wilhelm Nienhaus got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lionel Paly quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tory Pryor in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tory Pryor in the 22nd minute of play forced Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Rune Jarstein to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hertha 1969's Rupert Heidingsfelder got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lionel Paly made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Heidingsfelder in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein got control of the ball when Tory Pryor tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Hertha 1969 booed when FC Wil 1900 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Curtiz Klein didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rune Jarstein made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Tory Pryor sent off a good shot on target. In the 35th minute of the match, Téo Rosa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rune Jarstein saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Téo Rosa in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rune Jarstein prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hertha 1969's Rune Jarstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Rosa in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When Rupert Heidingsfelder came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Hertha 1969 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rupert Heidingsfelder couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Rupert Heidingsfelder managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hertha 1969's supporters rose to their feet, but Rupert Heidingsfelder was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 61st minute, Pirmin Jäggi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rune Jarstein was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 64 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goalkeeper Lionel Paly had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rupert Heidingsfelder. Rupert Heidingsfelder came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Lionel Paly could save by the left post. Rune Jarstein showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emery Heller in the 67th minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Wilhelm Nienhaus left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hertha 1969 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. In the 72nd minute Pirmin Jäggi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Jarstein saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
