Fernando Pinto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 5th match minute, SSV Ulm 1846 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albrecht Bosbach to maneuver through the defense. Kryspin Cupial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Lekubegi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benedetto Prüfer kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. The supporters of LavAzzA booed when SSV Ulm 1846 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Don Merlot didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Iwan Lepucki narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, LavAzzA's goal looked a bit too open when Don Merlot came free, but Iwan Lepucki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th minute Don Merlot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iwan Lepucki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iwan Lepucki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Merlot, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. The audience was convinced that Don Merlot's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iwan Lepucki was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Kryspin Cupial was out of position in the 19 minute of play, and Fernando Pinto capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Fernando Pinto really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, SSV Ulm 1846's goalkeeper Kryspin Cupial had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kuno Kubin. After some careless play in the LavAzzA defense, Don Merlot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iwan Lepucki. The LavAzzA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iwan Lepucki should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, SSV Ulm 1846's Kryspin Cupial got control of the ball when Kuno Kubin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Iwan Lepucki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niclas Monschke in the 31st minute of the match. LavAzzA's Iwan Lepucki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Merlot in the 32nd minute of play. Niclas Monschke scored 1-2 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iwan Lepucki, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute, Niclas Monschke made a precise shot to the right of Iwan Lepucki. LavAzzA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. In the 43rd minute of the match Stephane Bosch sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iwan Lepucki skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Don Merlot made a kick off. LavAzzA's Iwan Lepucki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niclas Monschke in the 54th minute of play. In the 56th minute, Don Merlot ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Iwan Lepucki was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Iwan Lepucki came out of the goal in the 59th minute to try and stop a shot by SSV Ulm 1846's Niclas Monschke. But to his dismay, Niclas Monschke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Don Merlot took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iwan Lepucki. Iwan Lepucki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. A hard shot by Albrecht Bosbach from long distance, 66 minutes into the match, got Iwan Lepucki's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Iwan Lepucki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niclas Monschke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephane Bosch hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. A collision led to SSV Ulm 1846 getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Afonso Silveira hit a great ball. If Niclas Monschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xavier von Felten made in the 83rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Amerigo Labarra immediately put the ball in play. Iwan Lepucki made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Don Merlot sent off a good shot on target. Kryspin Cupial showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franc Fabra, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franc Fabra in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kryspin Cupial saved SSV Ulm 1846 from getting behind. In the 95th minute, Don Merlot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The SSV Ulm 1846 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SSV Ulm 1846 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
