In the 26th minute, David Elodio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jacek Matuch was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Jacek Matuch came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio. But to his dismay, David Elodio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 33rd minute, Teodor Covaci made a precise shot to the right of Andriy Lunin. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. David Elodio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacek Matuch having to interfere. Andriy Lunin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Loi in the 38th minute of play. After 47 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Ginter. Jurek Ohrem's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andriy Lunin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Elodio made a kick off. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teodor Covaci, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling David Elodio in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacek Matuch prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 60 played minutes SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. got a freekick which was hit by Chen Zhen. In the 64th minute Ödön Szily shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacek Matuch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If David Elodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andriy Lunin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodor Covaci in the 78th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Elodio in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacek Matuch saved SV Bad Harzburg from getting behind. In the 84th minute Teodor Covaci shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andriy Lunin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute SV Bad Harzburg were awarded a corner. Jurek Ohrem went to the cornerflag to take it. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Silvestre Loi advanced and headed the ball into goal, 4-2 in the 86th minute. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Eustaquio Brufau was substituted for Chen Zhen. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Bernardinho Alagoano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Kaimo Liiva, made in the 94th minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Niculae Ungureanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacek Matuch was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
