The Czarne Mamby fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oliver Kahn should have stopped the shot. If Iacob Stroici had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aristide Crivac to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Czarne Mamby's goalkeeper Oliver Kahn had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferdinand Luca. The shot was stopped by Oliver Kahn but with some difficulty. The supporters of bullfinches booed when Czarne Mamby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Borys Golota didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Oliver Kahn successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ferdinand Luca had several of the Czarne Mamby's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 85 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Oliver Kahn as he didn't even see the shot coming. When the final whistle sounded bullfinches left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Czarne Mamby.
