With a left leg Jairo Asteguieta saved BV Borussia Hammarby from getting behind. After a rather tough play, BV Borussia Hammarby's Ingvar Brolin got a free kick in the 19th minute. After 24 minutes BV Borussia Hammarby's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Guido Golang who took care of the corner kick. Nicklas Forsell thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jairo Asteguieta, a very annoying self made goal in the 24th minute which led to 0-1. Su Premetis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orvar Kihlman in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Birger Mårtensson got free with Su Premetis in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Fusk&Bygg AB's Su Premetis got control of the ball when Birger Mårtensson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Fusk&Bygg AB booed when BV Borussia Hammarby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Brolin didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Birger Mårtensson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ralf Sundin was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Ralf Sundin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
