Playa Malvín's Vladimiro Marquez quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Zé Roberto Teixeira made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Erik Cantona sent off a good shot on target. Zé Roberto Teixeira was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Erik Cantona capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Erik Cantona really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 20 minutes into the match, Stamen Tekeliev notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Saga TF's Joachim Forseth. Joachim Forseth was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 23 minutes into the match, Stamen Tekeliev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joachim Forseth. Saga TF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stamen Tekeliev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Joachim Forseth came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Playa Malvín's Stamen Tekeliev. But to his dismay, Stamen Tekeliev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Cantona in the 32nd minute of play forced Playa Malvín's goalkeeper Zé Roberto Teixeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Playa Malvín's Jabier Igual got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stamen Tekeliev was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Stamen Tekeliev recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joachim Forseth. Stamen Tekeliev showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Stamen Tekeliev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Joachim Forseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stamen Tekeliev, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Saga TF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 82nd minute, when Stamen Tekeliev scored to the left of an out of position Joachim Forseth, making the score, 1-5. Playa Malvín's Josu Onez was substituted for Sandu Mândrilă. Playa Malvín's Zé Roberto Teixeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Cantona in the 88th minute of play. Playa Malvín's Vladimiro Marquez quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jo Gvardiol, made in the 90th minute of the game. The supporters of Playa Malvín booed when Saga TF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giannis Tsovolas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stelian Murgu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Playa Malvín supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Playa Malvín would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
