The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Remedios SC's Wincent Wawro got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Walter Casagrande in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jean dos Santos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 11th minute Walter Casagrande shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 15 minutes of play, Remedios SC's Wincent Wawro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Walmir Dias was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 17 minutes, Belchior Mamala mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Remedios SC and the Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Remedios SC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Belchior Mamala hit a great ball. 20 minutes into the game, 楚庭潮 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Remedios SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® the free kick. After 20 played minutes Remedios SC got a freekick which was hit by 楚庭潮. 23 minutes into the match, Remedios SC's goal looked a bit too open when Walter Casagrande came free, but Jean dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wincent Wawro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Walter Casagrande's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean dos Santos was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Wincent Wawro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walmir Dias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wincent Wawro in the 35th minute of play. Chivu Quintana kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. A collision led to Remedios SC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Chivu Quintana hit a great ball. In the 39th match minute, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Walter Casagrande to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute Chivu Quintana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Walter Casagrande to make the kick off. Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walmir Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wincent Wawro in the 57th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chivu Quintana. After 69 minutes, Celsinho Goiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Remedios SC and the Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ® players grew even worse after the yellow card. Celsinho Goiano kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Chivu Quintana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Dias having to interfere. Jean dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Casagrande in the 75th minute of the match. Hudson Peixoto hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Jean dos Santos came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Walter Casagrande. But to his dismay, Walter Casagrande quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s Róbson Sergipano got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ȼōŗỉȵᵺỉƛȵʂ Wƛŗŗỉōŗʂ®'s goalkeeper Walmir Dias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jean dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walter Casagrande, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Remedios SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Remedios SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
