An unexpectedly hard shot by David Geraerts in the 17th minute of play forced Grêmio Prudente's goalkeeper José Vítor Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Valdemar Valle came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Grêmio Prudente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdemar Valle couldn't finish the play. Waldemar Paraibano came out and tried to block the shot, but Valdemar Valle slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 28th minute. In the 34th minute of the match, Valdemar Valle tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Waldemar Paraibano saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, AFC Irocha's Waldemar Paraibano got control of the ball when Arlindo Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 44 minutes of play Grêmio Prudente's Arlindo Luz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdemar Valle made a kick off. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Valdemar Valle sped through AFC Irocha's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Waldemar Paraibano. In the 61st match minute, Grêmio Prudente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Valle to maneuver through the defense. Waldemar Paraibano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Travassos, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. AFC Irocha's Waldemar Paraibano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar Valle in the 80th minute of play.
