Thomas Sørensen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 13th minute, Valdemar de Amaral made a precise shot to the right of Thomas Sørensen. FC Grivata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdemar de Amaral in the 15th minute of play. Grêmio 20 Julho's supporters rose to their feet, but Valdemar de Amaral was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thomas Sørensen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thomas Sørensen made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Gilmar Romero sent off a good shot on target. The corner ended in Daniel Neves almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC Grivata's Thomas Sørensen did a great save.
