The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Higinio Beltza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Higinio Beltza struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Miloš Sirnik didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Equipo. Melchor Igon's late challenge caught a Gremio FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Melchor Igon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th minute, Valentin Vasič hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 23 played minutes Equipo got a freekick which was hit by Armando Florin. If Higinio Beltza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27th minute Higinio Beltza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miloš Sirnik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jon Jankovič during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Gremio FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Equipo:s goal. Gremio FC:s Miloš Sirnik showed great skill when he stopped Amadeo Iratze:s penalty. Miloš Sirnik came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Equipo's Amadeo Iratze. But to his dismay, Amadeo Iratze quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Gremio FC's zone, Higinio Beltza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miloš Sirnik came out of the goal and Higinio Beltza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 39 minutes into the game, Higinio Beltza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Miloš Sirnik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gremio FC's Miloš Sirnik played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Higinio Beltza in the 44th minute of play. Higinio Beltza in the 88thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Miloš Sirnik, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 90th minute, Equipo's Higinio Beltza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Higinio Beltza did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Miloš Sirnik 94 minutes into the match.
