The coaching staff of UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Gil Prata had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Guayra FC's Duarte Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Marquez in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 36 minutes, Rui Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Marquez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fernandinho Vianna's late challenge caught a Guayra FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernandinho Vianna helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Fernandinho Vianna hit a great ball. UNƗÃØ ĐΔ CΔƗXΔ ₣C's Ronaldo Guedes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Manuel Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ronaldo Guedes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Duarte Carneiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
