Alberto Palmeira came out of the goal and Virgílio Diniz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, New Loser FC's Alberto Palmeira threw himself towards the right post 9 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Virgílio Diniz, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jeferson Duarte might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eliseu Negri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jeferson Duarte ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Bandelocos booed when New Loser FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cássio Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Virgílio Diniz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Alberto Palmeira made a huge save. In the 30thth minute of the game Virgílio Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bandelocos's Alberto Palmeira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eliseu Negri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Virgílio Diniz succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 33rd playminute. 42 minutes into the game, Juca Bala was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bandelocos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Loser FC the free kick. Virgílio Diniz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alberto Palmeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Diniz in the 52nd minute of play forced Bandelocos's goalkeeper Alberto Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Bandelocos's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Diniz came free, but Alberto Palmeira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Cabral hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After having played for 63 minutes, Virgílio Diniz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Loser FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgílio Diniz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 66 minutes, Juca Bala took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Eliseu Negri to make any attempt to save it. 73 minutes into the match, New Loser FC's goal looked a bit too open when Juca Bala came free, but Eliseu Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of New Loser FC booed when Bandelocos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruy Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alex Simões, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Eliseu Negri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marquinhos Fonseca in the 82nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Bandelocos's Jorge Cabral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eliseu Negri. That made the score 1-4 after 84 minutes of play. When New Loser FC's Virgílio Diniz in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bandelocos's Alberto Palmeira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evaristo Guimarães in the 94th minute of play. The Bandelocos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bandelocos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
