The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kiko Brito charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kiko Brito the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kiko Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. After 5 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Candelaria FC! After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Arnaldo Maia managed to get in a good position for a shot. ALTHENTIC F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnaldo Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hipolito Ostadar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Arnaldo Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guido Koldobika struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Túlio Cerezo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Candelaria FC. After having played for 21 minutes, Silvestre Venerando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Candelaria FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvestre Venerando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Silvestre Venerando came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Candelaria FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvestre Venerando couldn't finish the play. Hipolito Ostadar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hernani Oliveira in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Cesinha Mendes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute of the match Cesinha Mendes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hipolito Ostadar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hernani Oliveira to strike the kick off in the second half. Guido Koldobika sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 58 played minutes ALTHENTIC F.C got a freekick which was hit by Hernani Oliveira. The supporters of ALTHENTIC F.C booed when Candelaria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nemesio Bemabe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 61 played minutes Arnaldo Maia rounded Candelaria FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-3. After having played for 67 minutes, Kiko Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 73rd minute of the match Lorenzo Omero sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Túlio Cerezo skillfully saved the ball. When Guido Koldobika fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Candelaria FC's protests and gave Guido Koldobika a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Guido Koldobika hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Candelaria FC's Hipolito Ostadar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Oliveira in the 92nd minute of play.
