The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Genaro Hernandez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicolas Ceresso was out of position in the 8 minute of play, and Genaro Hernandez capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Genaro Hernandez really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Bahía é Carnaval's Genaro Hernandez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicolas Ceresso. That made the score 2-0 after 12 minutes of play. In the 14th minute, Alejandro Tavio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Genaro Hernandez in the 18th minute of play forced Pombal FC's goalkeeper Nicolas Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Bahía é Carnaval's Alvaro Ishmael dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. With an all-out effort, Bahía é Carnaval's Nicolas Ceresso threw himself towards the right post 22 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Genaro Hernandez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 24th minute Genaro Hernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolas Ceresso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvaro Ishmael got free with Nicolas Ceresso in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nicolas Ceresso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Genaro Hernandez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 27 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Felipe Abaunza during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pombal FC booed when Bahía é Carnaval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Abaunza didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zé Roberto Loureiro fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pombal FC's protests and gave Zé Roberto Loureiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, Pombal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. Through an outstanding action, after 32 minutes, Nicolas Ceresso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 34 minutes of play, Bahía é Carnaval's Mateo Tolino made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nicolas Ceresso was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 37 minutes, Júnior Prado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pombal FC and the Bahía é Carnaval players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Júnior Prado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicolas Ceresso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Genaro Hernandez showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 6-0 in the 39 minute of play. In the 45th minute, Bahía é Carnaval's Genaro Hernandez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 7-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 7-0 at half-time.

After having played for 58 minutes, Guillermo Ramone managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bahía é Carnaval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Ramone was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 59 played minutes Pombal FC got a freekick which was hit by Magno de Lara. 61 minutes into the match, Pombal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Victoriano Francesco came free, but Nicolas Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolas Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Hernandez in the 64th minute of play. Pombal FC's Nicolas Ceresso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Ishmael in the 65th minute of play. Felipe Abaunza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Nicolas Ceresso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Alvaro Ishmael left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bahía é Carnaval fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vivaldo de Toledo during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Pombal FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Vivaldo de Toledo hit a great ball. Nicolas Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genaro Hernandez in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nicolas Ceresso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nicolas Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvaro Ishmael in the 78th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, Pombal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro Hernandez came free, but Nicolas Ceresso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nicolas Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Gau in the 80th minute of play. Nicolas Ceresso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvaro Ishmael, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 87th minute, Alvaro Ishmael left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Nicolas Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Ishmael in the 93rd minute of play. Bahía é Carnaval's Mateo Tolino suffered a concussion in the 94th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Vladimir Quirino hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Bahía é Carnaval had played much better football throughout.
