When Paulo Renato Souza came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Nova Iguaçu MZFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Renato Souza couldn't finish the play. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's attack was well implemented in the 12th minute, but when Paulo Renato Souza was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. 21 minutes into the game, Gustavo Mazer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Pragmáticos 1903's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nova Iguaçu MZFC the free kick. Mauro de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Gustavo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 33 minutes into the match, Pragmáticos 1903's Gustavo Mazer sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mauro de Salles narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jailson de Carvalho struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Arí Sarmento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. In the 42nd minute Paulo Renato Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arí Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jailson de Carvalho made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Douglas Gustavo put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mauro de Salles. Gustavo Abud came free with the goalkeeper in the 56th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mauro de Salles could save by the left post. Mauro de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Douglas Gustavo in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gustavo Abud to maneuver through the defense. Arí Sarmento came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Paulo Renato Souza. But to his dismay, Paulo Renato Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Pragmáticos 1903's Telmo Palmeira was substituted for Gustavo Mazer. Pragmáticos 1903 made a substitution. Tadeu do Nascimento replaced Gustavo Abud. Luizão Marquez hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Mauro de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Douglas Gustavo in the 79th minute of play. A collision led to Pragmáticos 1903 getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Telmo Palmeira hit a great ball. The supporters of Pragmáticos 1903 booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 90th match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tadeu do Nascimento to maneuver through the defense.
