The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Behrami was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Soriano in the 53rd minute of play forced YLL - U18 ™'s goalkeeper Eustacio Millano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. YLL - U18 ™'s supporters rose to their feet, but Shefki Luarasi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Paulo Valadares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 90 played minutes YLL - U18 ™ got a freekick which was hit by Jerrold Herndon. Pierre-Olivier Fondria's late challenge caught a San Lorenzo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierre-Olivier Fondria helped the player get up and apologised. After 95 played minutes YLL - U18 ™ got a freekick which was hit by Pierre-Olivier Fondria. 96 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's Eduardo Soriano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. San Lorenzo had played much better football throughout.
