Augusto Bevilacquas short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Donato Balestra to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Donato Balestra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vygandas Jančiauskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 11th minute of play forced SPALLETTE RETURNS's goalkeeper Marco Silvestri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruud van Nistelrooij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ruud van Nistelrooij blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marco Silvestri having to make a save. 18 minutes into the match, SPALLETTE RETURNS's goal looked a bit too open when Ruud van Nistelrooij came free, but Marco Silvestri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SPALLETTE RETURNS's attentive Ciro Immobile managed to snatch the ball when Antonello Di Toma made a throw-in in the 22nd minute of the game. Marco Silvestri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud van Nistelrooij in the 26th minute of play. After 27 played minutes Calenzano got a freekick which was hit by Ahmed Sinan. Vygandas Jančiauskas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Donato Balestra came out and tried to block the shot, but Vygandas Jančiauskas slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 39th minute. Ruud van Nistelrooij scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Silvestri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Calenzano's attentive Ahmed Sinan managed to snatch the ball when Ciro Immobile made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Vygandas Jančiauskas made the kick off in the second half. If Vygandas Jančiauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 55 minutes into the match, Calenzano's goal looked a bit too open when Vygandas Jančiauskas came free, but Donato Balestra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ruud van Nistelrooij could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Marco Silvestri made a huge save. Donato Balestra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vygandas Jančiauskas in the 63rd minute of play. Marco Silvestri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arturo Di Matteo in the 68th minute. A collision led to Calenzano getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Federico Tedeschi hit a great ball. 71 minutes into the match, Vygandas Jančiauskas notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Calenzano's Donato Balestra. Donato Balestra was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marco Silvestri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arturo Di Matteo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Achille Tullio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SPALLETTE RETURNS's Felice Dominici was substituted for Achille Tullio. Marco Silvestri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Comunardo Chizzo, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. After 83 minutes Calenzano's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Augusto Bevilacqua who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Comunardo Chizzo got free with Marco Silvestri in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SPALLETTE RETURNS's Vygandas Jančiauskas got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute, Arturo Di Matteo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marco Silvestri was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2.
