The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferruccio Zarillo got free with Peter Schmeichel in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dariusz Wos in the 22nd minute of play forced Maritek FC's goalkeeper Hélio O'Connell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Maritek FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rui Costa was slow to take the kick. During this time A.C. Patagonia's players had a chance to rest. 25 minutes into the match, Maritek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dariusz Wos came free, but Hélio O'Connell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A.C. Patagonia's Peter Schmeichel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save A.C. Patagonia from getting a goal against them. Dariusz Wos took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hélio O'Connell. Hélio O'Connell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Maritek FC's goalkeeper Hélio O'Connell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Peter Schmeichel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felice Tacco, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. After 41 minutes A.C. Peter Schmeichel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ferruccio Zarillo in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ferruccio Zarillo was the one to do the kick off. Peter Schmeichel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ettore Santo in the 51st minute of the match. A collision led to A.C. Peter Schmeichel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hélio O'Connell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Di Carlo in the 73rd minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, A.C. Patagonia's goal looked a bit too open when Ettore Santo came free, but Peter Schmeichel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hélio O'Connell stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aldo Di Carlo's shot from short distance in the 78th minute.
