Dário Pontes's late challenge caught a Patadura FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dário Pontes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Joinville Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Dário Pontes hit a great ball. Fabio Benitez hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes, Patadura FC's Dante Nalo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eriberto Leão came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Patadura FC reached it. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diego Txurio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cecilio Pere received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Eriberto Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Esteve Nastasio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eriberto Leão was relentless in the 59th minute of the game.
