Xaiver Rosende made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Cássio Ferraz sent off a good shot on target. Xaiver Rosende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Ferraz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 10th minute Gong Ao Guang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Maranhense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save C.A. Peñarol from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 18th minute of play forced Olivedos's goalkeeper Abelardo Maranhense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th play minute Cássio Ferraz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Xaiver Rosende. 1-0. Olivedos's Abelardo Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 28th minute of play. When Luís Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Olivedos's protests and gave Luís Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Rômulo Custódio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Xaiver Rosende made a huge save. In the 44th minute of the match, Donato Oliveira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Xaiver Rosende saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 46 minutes C.A. Peñarol's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luisinho Ceresso who took care of the corner kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gong Ao Guang to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to C.A. Peñarol getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Gong Ao Guang hit a great ball. In the 55th minute Donato Oliveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xaiver Rosende saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abelardo Maranhense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gong Ao Guang in the 59th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Ferraz in the 61st minute of play forced C.A. In the 79th minute of the match C.A. Peñarol got a corner. Olivedos's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jimeno Infante ran over to the corner to take the kick. Anselmo Velin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xaiver Rosende took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Luís Novaes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel de Godoi in the 91st minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Olivedos fans cheered their team off the field, for while C.A. Peñarol had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
