Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Thierry Auroy started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Réda Kolb came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Haji Sarap could save by the left post. In the 6th minute Thierry Auroy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haji Sarap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Indonesia booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Farges didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cakra Nyakmad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christophe Pourre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute Thierry Auroy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haji Sarap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Sarap didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thierry Auroy went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 14th minute, Marco Frayssinet hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 played minutes France got a freekick which was hit by Alain Roche. 16 minutes into the match, France's goal looked a bit too open when Cakra Nyakmad came free, but Christophe Pourre reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Cakra Nyakmad made a precise shot to the right of Christophe Pourre. France's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Hanung Sephtianda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thierry Auroy received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Haji Sarap came out and tried to block the shot, but Thierry Auroy slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 21st minute. In the 24th minute, Réda Kolb made a precise shot to the right of Haji Sarap. Indonesia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Cakra Nyakmad sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. France's Christophe Pourre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cakra Nyakmad in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, France's Thierry Auroy got a free kick in the 31st minute. Cakra Nyakmad scored 3-2 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Christophe Pourre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 35 minutes into the match, Indonesia's goal looked a bit too open when Thierry Auroy came free, but Haji Sarap reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. France's Jocelyn Care got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Karisma in the 43rd minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Christophe Pourre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-2.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cakra Nyakmad stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Thierry Auroy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haji Sarap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Réda Kolb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Haji Sarap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Auroy in the 59th minute of play. Christophe Pourre made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cakra Nyakmad in the 63rd minute. France made a substitution. Harold Combettes replaced Réda Kolb. France's Jonas Daguenet was substituted for Diego Farges. After 66 played minutes Indonesia got a freekick which was hit by Lari Sonniks. Haji Sarap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thierry Auroy in the 70th minute of play. Indonesia made a substitution. Fedro Rangkuti replaced Hanung Sephtianda. Indonesia's Sugih Linggawarman was substituted for Cakra Nyakmad. In the 74th minute of the game Alain Roche made a throw-in which Harold Combettes played forward. In the 82nd minute Bruno Marceau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haji Sarap saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Haji Sarap came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by France's Bruno Marceau. But to his dismay, Bruno Marceau quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Harry Karisma got a throw-in 95 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Sugih Linggawarman. Many of Indonesia's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Indonesia may have spent more time on the ball, but France were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
