FC Hollywood's Jan Schulz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Gorzkiewicz in the 5th minute of play. When Helmut Berrisch fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Hollywood's protests and gave Helmut Berrisch a yellow card for diving instead. Gilbert Gorzkiewicz struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Jan Schulz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Abandon All Hope. Abandon All Hope were furious when Roland Schiavi was red carded, 16 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Roland Schiavi hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Abandon All Hope's zone, Norman Jagusch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ye Hong might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan Schulz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
