After 29 minutes Arrebimba o Malho SLB's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Durval Pitta who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Clube do Remo MZ's Mário Maia to fire away a dangerous shot which Marciano Eskuin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Marciano Eskuin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Rogério Azenha's late challenge caught a Clube do Remo MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rogério Azenha helped the player get up and apologised. Marciano Eskuin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mário Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Heitor Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Quim Barreiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. After the first half Clube do Remo MZ were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Victor de Sena made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Victor de Sena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clube do Remo MZ and the Arrebimba o Malho SLB players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clube do Remo MZ's Victor de Sena got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Cléber Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quim Barreiros in the 53rd minute of the match. The corner led Arrebimba o Malho SLB's Sidónio Miguéis to fire away a dangerous shot which Cléber Pinho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
