Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cauã Sá in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cesare Simone prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Beppe Zoff came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Sorci Viola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beppe Zoff couldn't finish the play. In the 29th minute, DeMarcus Dailey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Froghino's goal looked a bit too open when Beppe Zoff came free, but Eliáš Kotek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 34 minutes, Felice Tozzi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sorci Viola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felice Tozzi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cesare Simone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cauã Sá, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cauã Sá in the 39th minute of play forced Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Cesare Simone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Sorci Viola's goal looked a bit too open when Cauã Sá came free, but Cesare Simone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eliáš Kotek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anfilogino Chiola in the 42nd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cauã Sá stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Miroslav Valchář kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Sorci Viola were furious when Alberto Carozza was red carded, 64 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 64 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Sorci Viola! After 65 minutes Sorci Viola's goalkeeper Cesare Simone managed, with a little bit of luck, save DeMarcus Dailey's penalty, on his right side after a tricky shot. After 75 played minutes Sorci Viola got a freekick which was hit by Anfilogino Chiola. 80 minutes into the game, Arturo Liberti was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sorci Viola's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Froghino the free kick. A collision led to Sorci Viola getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Arturo Liberti hit a great ball. When Cauã Sá fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Froghino's protests and gave Cauã Sá a yellow card for diving instead. In the 87th minute, Cauã Sá hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Beppe Zoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Eliáš Kotek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sorci Viola's Cesare Simone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cauã Sá in the 92nd minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
